SupaSailing maritime management platform — ENISA certified startup

We have some great news to share: SupaSailing S.L. is now an officially certified startup (empresa emergente) in Spain. On 17 June 2026, the Certification Committee of ENISA — Empresa Nacional de Innovación, S.M.E., S.A., Spain's National Innovation Agency — resolved favourably on our application and certified SupaSailing as a company with an innovative and scalable business model under Law 28/2022, better known as the Spanish Startup Law.

What is the ENISA startup certification?

Spain's Ley 28/2022 de fomento del ecosistema de las empresas emergentes ("Startup Law") created, for the first time, a formal legal definition of a startup in Spain. To access the benefits of the law, a company cannot simply declare itself a startup: it must apply to ENISA, a state-owned innovation agency operating under the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, which independently evaluates every application against the requirements of articles 3 and 6 of the law — and, crucially, against the criterion of whether the business model is genuinely innovative and scalable.

Only companies that pass this evaluation are certified, entered on the company's page at the Registro Mercantil (Commercial Registry), and published on ENISA's own website. In other words: it is a government-verified, publicly auditable stamp — not a self-awarded badge.

Why this matters for our customers

A certification is only as valuable as what it says about the product you rely on every day. For the fleet operators, charter companies, brokers, marinas and shipyards that run their operations on SupaSailing, the ENISA certification means three concrete things:

  • Independent validation of innovation. A public innovation agency examined our technology and business model and concluded that what we are building — a unified, modular platform for maritime operations — is genuinely innovative, not incremental.
  • Confirmation of scalability. The evaluation specifically covers whether the company can grow sustainably. That is the same architecture question our enterprise customers ask us: can this platform grow with my fleet? ENISA's answer was yes.
  • More investment in product. The Startup Law grants certified companies meaningful benefits — reduced corporate taxation during the early years, better stock-option treatment to attract engineering talent, and streamlined procedures. Every euro and hour saved goes back into the platform roadmap.

An EU company, built in the Mediterranean, for the maritime industry

SupaSailing has always been a European company: our infrastructure runs in EU data centres (Frankfurt and Ireland), our platform ships natively in five languages, and our roots are firmly in the Mediterranean yachting ecosystem. The ENISA certification anchors that identity formally — we are now part of the officially recognised Spanish startup ecosystem, alongside the country's most promising technology companies.

How you can verify it

Transparency matters to us. The certification is a public act: ENISA communicates it to the Commercial Registry, where it is inscribed on the company's registry page, and publishes it on the ENISA website. Anyone — customer, partner or investor — can verify SupaSailing's certified status independently.

What's next

The certification changes nothing about how we work — and everything about the pace at which we can do it. Our roadmap for the rest of 2026 focuses on deepening the AI capabilities across the fleet, charter and broker modules, expanding integrations, and continuing to earn the trust of maritime operators across Europe and beyond.

To every customer and partner who got us here: thank you. This one is yours too.
